Life Vision’s Farmer Field School:

The Farmer Field School is a project established by Life Vision. The project aims to strengthen the livelihoods of female farmers in the Upper-Egyptian Governorate of El Minya villages by setting up farmer field schools in central plots of land in their villages where they can experientially learn new and improved farming practices, receive literacy and numeracy classes, basic life skills training, health and nutrition awareness, and preventative medical care. They additionally receive various forms of agricultural support such as modern farming techniques, improved hybrid seeds, farming tools, and quality fertilizers.

On a macro-level, farmer field school project also seeks to expand smallholder access to markets for agricultural inputs and products while simultaneously working towards fostering an enabling environment that is more proactive towards women’s economic empowerment.

The project is, therefore, identifying those incapable of seeing themselves as important elements in the society and transforming them to positively contributing women by improving living standards and living conditions of their families and households.
